Ezekiel is a single orphan, meaning he has lost 1 parent. His father passed away. He lives with his mother and younger brother, who has a different father. His mother works as a cleaner at the hospital. She speaks fluent English. She has helped lead C.A.R.E.'s group of Oke Ere caregivers. During his intake interview, Ezekiel could recognize very few letters and could not answer any math questions. Ezekiel and his mom live in Oke Ere, which is a small town about 30 minutes from Egbe. This town is much more rural than Egbe, with only 2 schools and 3 small churches. The education is very poor there and most of the children cannot read nor write well. It has required much effort and work for Ezekiel to catch up to grade level with his peers, but with God's help and tutoring from Foundations Academy teachers, he has made much progress!

All students in the program receive a quality education, school supplies, uniform, and provisions. Ezekiel's sponorship is set at $49 a month ($588 annually.) Students from Oke Ere require this higher amount for daily transport to and from school. Additionally, Ezekiel receives tutoring sessions.
