Joshua is one of four children. When he entered the C.A.R.E. program, the mum was jobless and the father was blind, couldn't talk, and was paralyzed. He had to be carried out of the house to do anything. Joshua and his siblings were all at home and not going to school because the mum could not pay the fees and all the money they could get was going to the father's medical bills, they couldn't even feed themselves.They had to beg for food from their neighbours and the father later died.

Joshua had no formal education when he came into the ministry so he received one-on-one instruction before he entered C.A.R.E. Africa's school, Foundations Academy.
