Jomiloju's mother earned a Teaching Certificate, yet she sells lotion at market to provide for herself and Jomi. Jomi also attends a Christian church in Egbe with her mom. The girl's father abandoned the family years ago. The mother then married, but that husband died. And the new man she lives with does not accept responsibility for Jomiloju's upkeep.
