Mubo, with the beautiful smile, is a single orphan. Her mother died several years ago and Mubo now lives with her grandma. In her healthier days, her grandma gathered and sold firewood but now she is too old. She does her best to sell ground nut (similar to the American peanut). Mubo and her grandma live in Oke Ere, which is a town about 30 minutes from C.A.R.E. Africa in Egbe. This town is much more rural with only 2 schools and 3 small churches. The education is very poor there and most of the children cannot read or write well. Surprisingly, when Mubo tested for entry into C.A.R.E. Africa, her reading and math scores were very good. We are excited to see her do well in our school. Oke Ere student sponsorship is $49 a month, or $588 annually, which is slightly more than our Egbe sponsorships. The additional funds provide daily transportation to and from her grandma's house to the C.A.R.E. Center. Your investment makes a difference in this little girl's life so she can break the chain of poverty in her family.
