Olamide and his family live in Oke Ere, which is a town about 30 minutes from Egbe. This town is much more rural with only 2 schools and 3 small churches. The education is very poor there and most of the children cannot read or write well. Olamide could already read very well when he entered the program at 6 years old. He is the 7th child of 8 that is mother has given birth to. The children have several different fathers and Olamide's is unkown. His mother has already given 3 of her other children away because she cannot afford to keep them. She learned seamstress work but was unable to finish training and earn her certificate. She participated in the seamstress program at C.A.R.E. for a time to provide for her family. We also hope to reunite her with all her children. She will be discipled and encouraged that Christ loves her completely; that she doesn't need to keep seeking love from men.
