Racheal lives with her grandma & grandpa. Her mother & father are still alive, but they divorced and abandoned their four children. Racheal attended an underperforming local government school. Her school fees were paid by her older brother who found small work in the town. When her grandmother applied to C.A.R.E. Africa, she said Racheal was 10 years old. The rule for new intakes is ages 4-14. We find that the older ones struggle to adapt to the structured setting with high academic standards. When Racheal came for the interview, we realized she was actually 14. She was told she would have to show that she was open to change. The team could see her humble spirit and easily decided she would be a good fit for C.A.R.E. Africa. Thank you for sponsoring Racheal!
