Samuel has 7 brothers and sisters. His mother is the second wife to a man in the village. C.A.R.E. Africa already supports two children from the man’s first wife and now the second wife has come begging us to take Samuel into the program. Samuel's mother sells ground nut, but since she is the second wife and due to the many children in her care, she did not have the funds to send Samuel to school. When Samuel came to C.A.R.E. he did not speak much English. After just a year in the program, he made amazing improvements. His English became strong and he nearly reached grade level.
