Segun's dad is a farmer and his mother sells firewood. The couple has 7 children but have only been able to keep 4 of them. They have given out the other 3 as "help" because they were unable to afford to feed them.  The Father was also married before and had three kids with that wife. The burden to provide for all the children has left them with nothing. The home they live in is falling apart; yet, thankfully, they don't have to pay rent. This family is a case of severe poverty. They live in Oke Ere which is a town about 30 minutes from Egbe. This town is much more rural with only 2 schools and 3 small churches. The education is very poor there and most of the children we meet cannot read or write well. Oke Ere sponsorships are $49 a month or $588 a year. The additional funding will provide daily transport for him to and from his house in Oke Ere to our C.A.R.E. Center in Egbe.
